China Vows to Fight “Any Type of War” with U.S. Amid Escalating Tensions

China vows to fight any type of war to the United States, stating its readiness to engage in “any type of war” as tensions between the two nations continue to escalate. This declaration comes as President Donald Trump intensifies economic and political pressure on China, including the imposition of new tariffs. The Chinese Embassy in the U.S. emphasized that if the U.S. desires conflict, whether it be a tariff war, trade war, or any other form, China is prepared to fight until the end.

In a post on X, the Chinese Embassy in the U.S. declared, “If war is what the U.S. wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we are ready to fight till the end.” This statement reflects an increasingly confrontational stance by China in response to U.S. actions aiming to fight any type of war.

A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson criticized the U.S. rationale for imposing tariffs, calling the fentanyl-related explanation a “flimsy excuse.” China has consistently denied being the primary source of fentanyl entering the U.S., arguing that it enforces stringent anti-drug regulations.

The U.S. has imposed a 20% tariff on Chinese imports, prompting China to retaliate with tariffs of up to 15% on select U.S. products, effective March 10. This escalation marks a significant deterioration in trade relations between the two nations.

Defense Spending Increase: China has also announced a 7.2% increase in its defense budget for 2025, aligning with President Xi Jinping’s ambitions to modernize China’s military by 2035. This move underscores China’s commitment to enhancing its military capabilities in the face of rising tensions.
